Lonsdale Links Redevelopment
Project Value $40M
Located on the Bellarine Peninsula, the Lonsdale Golf Club has a rich and vibrant history. First founded in 1922 as a community golf course which has been serving members and green fee players for 100 years. Its history being one of growth and change, shifting with community needs and membership demands.
The facility has been substantially rebuilt from the ground up with a modest but sculpturally stunning architecturally designed clubhouse, which complements a well-designed functional golf course within its distinctive Moonah Woodland vegetation setting.
The project required negotiating with an adjoining private landowner, State and Local Government Authorities to purchase land, rezone and facilitate a planning scheme amendment, in order to support an allowable redevelopment. Project planning involved construction of a preceding 100 lot staged residential subdivision to enable funding and remodeling of the entire golf course in two stages and construction of a new sited clubhouse facility overlooking Lake Victoria.
The project was successfully delivered on time and under budget, with creation of a future fund for the Lonsdale Golf Club.
